Digital Learning Support for Makers: Integrating Technical Development and Educational Design

Makerspaces have gained momentum, not only due to novel manufacturing technologies but also the need for qualified workforce in production industries. Capacity building should follow ad hoc procedures or arbitrary project designs qualify digital production, rather still leave room creativity. As such, quest has arisen structured while empowering guidance of additive manufacturing. This can be benefit timely education, qualifying existing industries attract students production-related domains. In this paper, we aim develop an integrated understanding technical development and capacity-building support activities. We exemplify proposed design science approach with a regional makerspace. provides us user-centered evaluation structuring along individualized education scheme. Thereby, capacity starts individual goal setting requirements envisioned solution, which becomes part learning contract specific project. Learning steps are framed by its stages cycles, since artifacts various kinds, stemming either from construction, modeling, material selection, The study revealed essential benefits terms planning individualization processes.
